Watsonville: Organizers of the Watsonville Fly-In & Air Show are visiting area high schools to promote an annual poster contest open to students in grades 10-12.

The annual aviation event, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, will be Oct. 11-12 at the Watsonville Municipal Airport.

Each high school will submit three entries, which will be submitted to the Fly-In board on May 1.

After trimming entries to a final three, the board will poll pilots to determine the winner.

The winner will be announced in June.

Welcome to the new and improved Watsonville Fly-in & Airshow website!

This is your online portal to an exciting event that will occur in Watsonville on October 11th and 12th…a two day golden anniversary celebration of one of the nations longest continuously held Fly-In and Air Shows.

Our theme is "Your Home town AirShow….at your Home town Airport!" with a focus on revisiting many of the acrobatic performers, historic aircraft and associated activities that have come to make this event a community mainstay since 1964.

October 11th and 12th will have an itinerary of activities which will be available in the near future, which will of course include familiar performers, the return of the ever popular antique aircraft and automobiles and a few new wrinkles.

As a California non-profit organization, with a history of giving back to the local community, the Fly-In & Air Show Board is proud to partner with local charities to support the needs of those less fortunate.

Please check back soon for the latest information on the 50th anniversary celebration!
